Who: Newport Business Association Members What: January Monthly Meeting When: Wednesday, January 25, 2012 Time: 7:45– 8:00a.m. Networking/Coffee Time (coffee provided by Mammoth Café) 8:00 – 9:00a.m. Presentation Where: Newport City Building Multi-Purpose Room 998 Monmouth Street Newport, KY 41071 Topic: “Rekindle Micro-Enterprise Development Program” – Robert Yoder, Northern Kentucky Community Action The Rekindle program works with aspiring entrepreneurs in developing their dreams of starting a business into reality. The Rekindle program helps aspiring entrepreneurs develop their business plans, provides continuing business coaching and can provide up to $5,000 in micro-loans.
The next round of Rekindle Micro-Enterprise classes are starting on Thursday, January 26 in Covington, and on Saturday, January 28 in Williamstown, KY. Paul Wilson from Northern Kentucky Community Action will speak on their YouthBuild program. YouthBuild targets Northern Kentucky young adults between the ages of 16 and 24. The Program helps them earn their G.E.D. certification and enroll in post-secondary education such as college. At the same time, YouthBuild teaches participants construction skills that can lead to a Carpentry Certification. Request: The Youthbuild program is seeking Button Down dress shirts and ties, for their participants. Donations of dress shirts/ties can be brought to the January 25th NBA meeting.
